These are draft copies of ordinances being considered by the Board of Commissioners for adoption. Accompanying memos clarify the ordinances' intent.

These draft ordinances are occasionally revised or changed by the Board of Commissioners at official and open public meetings. Every effort is made to keep this website up to date. However, there may be a short period of time between the Board of Commissioners changing a proposed ordinance and the revised version of the draft ordinance being posted on this site. Chapter 27 (Zoning) Part 16 (Signs)
An Ordinance Amending The West Norriton Township Zoning Ordinance, Chapter 27,  Part 16 Entitled “Signs” To Remove The Term “Political Sign”, Define The Terms “Commercial Sign” And “Noncommercial Sign”, Amend The Regulatory Requirements For Noncommercial Signs, Holiday Decorations, Temporary Event Signs And Temporary Political Signs, And To Add A New Section 27-1617 To Regulate Noncommercial Signs To Comply With The Provisions Of This Ordinance.

Chapter 27 (Zoning) Adding new Part 13A Entitled "Open Space Preservation District 2014"
The Board of Commissioners voted on May 13, 2014 to repeal Part 13A "Open Space Preservation District" of Chapter 27 (Zoning). The Board directed staff to draft a new Part 13A that:
  • Provide an effective means of responding to site conditions for the preservation of floodplains, wetlands, streams, valleys, woodlands and other natural and scenic features and historic resources in a manner consistent with Township policy.
  • Provide for the creation, retention and protection of historic sites and open space areas within the Township.
  • Provide an opportunity to attain the objectives of the Township's Open Space Study, Historic Sites Comprehensive Mapping Project and Comprehensive Plan with regard to open space preservation, orderly growth and enhancement of environmental resources.
  • Encourage innovation and to promote flexibility, economy and ingenuity in the residential development of large tracts, including subdivisions and land developments.

As part of the former Part 13A and the draft version of the new Part 13A, Section 13A-04 General Regulations Part A(4) suggests the creation of an Inventory of Historical Structures 
The purpose of this memorandum is provide historical structures for the purpose of fulfilling Section 13A04, Part A(4) in creating a Township Inventory of Historical Structures. This memorandum is strictly for discussion purposes only and does not constitute a final listing of structures.
