Canvassing Notice – How to Identify Official CDM Smith Representatives

PA American Water and their contractor CDM Smith are conducting door-to-door canvassing in West Norriton Township as part of their drinking water quality and lead service line outreach.

To help residents feel confident and informed, here’s how you can identify official CDM Smith canvassers 

 What canvassers will be wearing/carrying:

• High-visibility CDM Smith safety vest

• CDM Smith hard hat or bump cap

• PA American Water / CDM Smith contractor ID badge

• Clearly marked “Official Business” signage displayed in the windshield of their vehicle

Vehicles

• Each canvasser vehicle will have a visible windshield sign identifying it as Official Business

Advance Notice to the Township

• CDM Smith provides the Township with advance information including:

  • Canvasser names

  • Phone numbers

  • Vehicle types

• The Township also receives look-ahead information on upcoming work areas by census tract

 Important reminders

• Canvassers are not selling anything

• Participation is voluntary

• If you are ever unsure, you may ask for identification or contact PA American Water directly
