Beginning Friday, September 25 at 6:00 AM, the Township will declare a State of Emergency, due to Pope Francis visiting Philadelphia. The emergency declaration will remain in effect until further notice.
The purpose of this declaration is to position the Township for possible reimbursement of related expenses by the federal and state government. Additionally, the Township will have the ability to make needed purchases on an emergency basis; in the unlikely event this is necessary.
This declaration is a precautionary measure.
While traffic along the US 422 corridor and the Ridge Pike corridor could be impacted by the papal visit, we encourage our residents to proceed with your normal daily activities. Please be aware of the the potential traffic impacts when planning your own travel.
