[ARCHIVED] PA American Water to Replace Water Lines in West Norriton

Construction Notice

Starting the week of June 1, 2015, Pennsylvania American Water will install nearly 3200 feet of eight inch ductile iron pipe along Carey Lane between Hemlock Road and Brandon Road, Keswick Lane between Carey Lane and School Lane and Virginia Lane between Carey Lane and School Lane in West Norriton Township. This project, with a cost of approximately $408,000.00 will replace aging six inch water main that dates back to the early 1950 s. We expect to complete the pipe installation, service connection and tie-ins by the end of August, weather permitting. Depending on weather conditions, final paving restoration will take place either in December 2015 or by spring 2016.

Construction will take place within the street, sidewalks, grass shoulder areas and driveways that are located within the public right-of-way. Our contractor for this project, Anrich Construction Company, will work weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. We will try to minimize any adverse effects on residents, but please be aware that the project will likely result in traffic disruptions and construction-related inconveniences, such as on-site equipment and noise. Restoration in disturbed grass areas will be restored as top soil and seed.

You might also experience periods of discolored water and/or times when we might need to briefly discontinue water service to allow crews to complete the connections. Pennsylvania American Water will make every effort to limit water service shutdowns during the project to less than one hour at a time, unless emergency circumstances arise. If you have any questions about your service during construction, please contact our customer service center at 1-800-565-7292.

Please note that some homes in the area might have deteriorated water service lines from the curb to the home. This deterioration is often caused by age. We plan to connect our new copper water service to your service line, but if the condition of your water service has deteriorated to the point where the connection cannot be completed, you might be required to replace your water service line.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience until these system improvements are completed. If you have any questions about the project, please contact our office Monday through Friday prior to 4:30p.m. at 610-292-3577 (Jim Reynolds) or 610-292-3567 (Ed Baetzel).
