Residential Electric Lawn and Garden Equipment Rebate Program
The Residential Electric Lawn and Garden Equipment Rebate Program is designed to encourage homeowners to replace gas-powered lawn and garden equipment with cleaner, quieter, and more energy-efficient electric alternatives. By offering rebates on qualifying electric lawnmowers, leaf blowers, string trimmers, and other battery-powered or corded electric equipment, this program helps reduce air pollution, noise pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions.
1. Eligibility Requirements
- Residency: Applicants must be residents of West Norriton Township and provide proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, driver’s license).
- Property Type: The rebate is available for residential properties only. Businesses and commercial properties are not eligible.
- Purchase Date: Equipment must be purchased on or after March 1, 2025 to qualify for a rebate.
- New Equipment: Only new, electric-powered lawn and garden equipment is eligible. Used or refurbished items do not qualify.
- Retail Purchase: Equipment must be purchased from a retail store or online vendor. Private party or second-hand sales are not eligible.
2. Qualifying Equipment & Rebate Amounts
Eligible electric lawn and garden equipment includes:

Note: Battery chargers and accessories (e.g., extra batteries) are not eligible for rebates unless sold as part of a qualifying equipment package.
3. Application Process
- Purchase Equipment – Buy qualifying electric lawn and garden equipment from an authorized retailer.
- Submit Application – Complete the online or paper application form and attach:
- A copy of the purchase receipt showing the retailer name, date, item description, and price.
- Proof of residency (e.g., utility bill, driver's license).
- Application Review – The program administrator will review submissions within 5 days.
- Receive Rebate – Approved applicants will receive their rebate via check within two weeks.
4. Additional Terms & Conditions
- Rebates are first-come, first-served and subject to funding availability.
- Each household is limited to 1 rebate per year.
- The program reserves the right to verify purchases and request additional documentation.
- The program administrator is not responsible for lost or incomplete applications.
- Rebates cannot exceed the purchase price of the equipment.
