Right to Know

Open Records Laws

West Norriton Township is in compliance with the requirements of Pennsylvania Act 3 of 2008, the Right to Know and Open Records laws. This law ensures that public information and records pertaining to the township government are open and available, serving as a resource for citizens, public officials, and members of the media.

Township Right to Know Policy

In order to fully comply with the Right-to-Know Act of February 14, 2008, the Township adopted a Right to Know Policy, which shall supersede the records policy that became effective on December 26, 2002.

Obtaining Records

To make obtaining a record a smooth and efficient process, the township requests that citizens use the request form and specify, in as much detail as possible, the specific record or records being sought. The Pennsylvania Office of Open Records reminds citizens to use good judgment in seeking records and not use this law to harass or overburden the township from performing its other functions. The township encourages patience and a spirit of cooperation in handling all citizen record requests.
